'Queer Lounge' Returns for 5th Year at Sundance
Taking over a multi-level storefront in a prime Main Street location, Queer Lounge will return to Park City for its fifth year to champion queer film at Sundance, Slamdance, and other festivals. Queer Lounge creates a hub at film festivals where queer-friendly filmmakers, professionals, and audiences connect and network.

The festival was a smash success for gay themed films across the board. Movies including Art School Confidential, The Night Whisperer (Robin Williams, Toni Collette and Bobby Canavale in an adaptation of the Amistead Maupin novel) and Little Miss Sunshine (Collette, Greg Kinnear and Steve Carell as the suicidal gay uncle) each sold for millions of dollars and are expected in theatres this year.

The 2006 Sundance Film Festival kicks off today with the launch of the third annual Queer Lounge, which returns to Park City as the only gay organization sanctioned by the festival. Launched in 2004, the Queer Lounge is a festival hot spot with a year-round mission: building mainstream audiences and boosting box office for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) films and filmmakers.
